This residence is designed to infill an urban lot in Burlington, Vermont.  The client was looking for a modern structure that at the same time fit into the context of a dense residential neighborhood.  The main floor is raised a few feet above the sidewalk to maintain a sense of privacy for the first floor living spaces while allowing the residents views outside.  The openness of the main floor living area maximizes the sense of space.  The upper levels as well as the roof deck take advantage of the views of Lake Champlain.
